Whole wheat hot dog bun

I have a pack of those whole wheat bun dough frozen, so that whenever I desire, I can make small baked goods within an hour or less (doable in just 30 minutes). Weekend morning, I wake up to prepare my hot dog bun. It is a real breakfast treat.

Recipe: Whole wheat hot dog bun (make 1 bun, 2 servings)

Ingredients:
- two mini dough balls
- 1/2 tp sugar
- dash of active dry yeast
- 2 tp KAF all-purpose flour
- 1 hot dog

Procedure:
1. Place dough balls in plastic bag and soak in warm water until the dough is thawed.
2. Knead the two balls together. Dissolve the dash of yeast in 1/4 tp or less of water. Add to the dough. Add the sugar as well. Then use the flour to adjust the hydration level of the dough until it's really moist and soft, but not sticky.
3. Heat hot dog in microwave for 30 seconds or until the inside is warm.
4. Shape dough into a sheet. Wrap around hot dog. Set on parchment paper and allow to rise for at least 10 minutes, or until puffy.
5. Bake at 400F for 5 minutes, or 375F for 10 minutes, until top is nicely browned. Serve hot.

Results:

Observations:
1. The dough of this can be prepared 1/2 hour before people wake up, baked in 10 minutes and served right away at breakfast table. It's very tasty.
2. This bun is a total enjoyment. When it just comes out of the oven, the aroma is sweetly fresh and warm. Despite the high ratio of whole wheat flour, the bread is incredibly soft and moist, with a nice sweetness. The crumb and the hot dog are both steaming hot inside. In fact, steam comes out when I slice the bun.
